The meaning of Kahu I Rangi is multi faceted; HAWK IN THE SKY or CLOAKED BY THE SKY.

Kahu I Rangi is one of Waihekes' truly distinctive properties designed by Neil McLachlan, one of New Zealand's most recognised interior designers.   Kahu i Rangi commands spectacular views over Awaawaroa Bay Valley, distant sea and city views and looks over the award winning vineyard, Poderi Crisci.  
​A short trip from Auckland to enjoy the tranquil lush surroundings, nature and quiet. Kahu i Rangi is set on 8.4 hectares of native bush with easy access to walking tracks.  You are a short drive from everything Waiheke has to offer- beautiful white sandy beaches, vineyards, walking tracks and much, much more.

Getting here & around the island

Waiheke Island is easily accessible from Auckland via Fullers Ferries. The trip takes just over half an hour to the main wharf on Waiheke.  Only 8 minutes by helicopter (landing area available next door by arrangement). There are also many options for rental cars on the island, check here for more details

Take the opportunity to get away from it all. Two beautiful King rooms with breathtaking expansive views looking down on the Awaawaroa Bay Valley, with fabulous continental breakfast included.
Great for couples, engagement announcements, island visitors, solo adventurers looking for that secret hideaway break with peace and serenity. Come and enjoy our home, its eclectic styling and welcoming hosts.

Guest access
Guests can have access to the well appointed kitchen and make themselves at home in the dining, lounge and library areas. There is a sunken entertainment area off the courtyard, perfect for breakfast, just chilling out or afternoon/sunset drinks overlooking the valley and vineyards of Poderi Crisci!

Interaction with guests
Your hosts Steve and Tony will be there to help out with anything you need to make the most of your stay and to enjoy the island and everything it has to offer.

Each room accommodates up to 2 people. Both rooms have their own ensuite. 
The generous rooms each have a King size bed. 
Check In: Anytime after 2PM
Check Out: 11AM
Amenities include free internet, parking on premises, Kitchen available for use, multiple Indoor and outdoor fireplaces

There is also another smaller bedroom available by arrangement.

Relax
Kahu i Rangi offers a tranquil environment with multiple lounging and relaxation areas, indoor and out. We have 3 open fireplaces for indoor and outdoor comfort. Every weather situation is catered for.... so relax.

The neighbourhood
Picturesque rural setting, with Poderi Crisci at the bottom of the drive, and other vineyards and stunning beaches a short drive away.

Getting around
Feel free to bring your own transport or we can arrange ferry transfers and rental cars. Helicopter pad next door.

Other things to note
Note that we are located in the Awaawaroa Valley, a 30 minute drive from the Matiatia Ferry terminal, 15 minutes from Onetangi Beach. Transport or rental cars can be arranged on request.

May not be safe or suitable for children (0-12 years).  Please be aware we are on septic and tank water
